Obituary
Lifelong resident of Lompoc Adelina E. Mendez of died Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at the age of 82.
Adelina was born November 24, 1927 in Lompoc to Frank and Mary Silva. She graduated from Lompoc High School with the class of 1945.
Adelina was a cake decorator with Birkholm's Bakery for 21 years retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Lompoc Grange and the American Legion Post 211 Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, needlework and baking.
She is survived by her sister Mary Ostini of Lompoc and her granddaughter Anne Gott of Apple Valley. She was preceded in death by her daughters Lucille and Regina, and her brother Frank Silva.
The visitation will be on Sunday, September 12, from 4-6 pm in the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with the evening vigil starting at 5 pm. Monsignor John Fitzgerald will celebrate the mass of Christian burial on Monday, September 13, at 10 am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment at a later time in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
