Agnes "Aggie"
Metcalf
October 7, 1930 – February 11, 2018
Agnes "Aggie" Metcalf was born on October 7, 1930 in Cardiff, Wales and was the youngest daughter of Albert and Mary Ellen Perrins. Aggie came to the United States with her war-widowed sister and niece in 1950 and resided in Cincinnati, Ohio for five years before moving to California for health reasons. When she arrived in America, she trained and worked as a laboratory technician at St. Mary's Hospital in Cincinnati. She later transferred to a business college and studied business. On her arrival in Los Angeles, she was employed as a legal secretary in a Beverly Hills law firm which had offices in New York and Paris.
Agnes met and married Bill Metcalf, her husband of 55 plus years. After a few years of living in different parts of the country, they settled in Lompoc in 1963. Agnes worked as a hospice volunteer for 13 years and was passionate about the time she spent with the terminally ill patients.
