Alfredo C. Caballero of Lompoc died Tuesday June 5, 2012 at the age of 56.
Alfredo was born September 11, 1955 in San Luis, Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico. A resident of Lompoc since 1963 he graduated from Maple High School in 1973.
Alfredo was fascinated by new technology. He worked as a mechanical engineering technician for Intel, Hughes Network and for Burroughs in the San Diego area for more than 20 years. Most recently he worked in Santa Barbara for Veeco. He loved his work and shared his knowledge with anyone who would listen.
In his spare time he enjoyed rock climbing, photography, surfing, hiking, hunting, traveling and gardening.
Alfredo loved his family. He is survived by his mother Onora Centino of Lompoc, his daughter Danielle Caballero of San Diego, his sisters Christina Guaderama of Lompoc and Georgia McLaughlin of Oxnard, his brother Frankie Centino of Lompoc and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Pete Centino and his brother Greg Centino.
A memorial mass will be held at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Mission Hills on Friday, August 3, at 10:30 am. Cremation was followed by private inurnment.
