Alice F. Belter of Lompoc, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the age of 85.
Alice was born January 11, 1926, in Mulkeytown, Illinois to Jacob and Pearl Simpkins. She was raised and educated in Mulkeytown and graduated from Christopher Community High School in Christopher, Illinois.
Alice married Michael Belter and together they owned and operated the Ralph Blalock Company, a janitorial supply company in Springfield, Illinois. Formerly of Glenarm, Illinois she has been a resident of Lompoc since 2002.
Alice was a talented quilter who won numerous blue ribbons at fairs for her beautiful quilts.
Alice loved her family. Her husband Michael Belter preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by her brother and his wife Bob and Kitty Simpkins of Lompoc, her brother Opal Simpkins of Knoxville, Tennessee, numerous nieces and nephew and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Grace Stubbins, Ruth Tanner and her brother Earl Simpkins.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 25, 2011, at 2 pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary under the direction of Pastor John Adams of the First Christian Church.
Cremation will be followed by interment in the Mulkeytown Cemetery.
