Obituary
Aline Marie Agee passed away on April 16, 2015, at the age of 87, after a brief illness at Lompoc Valley Hospital.
Aline was born in Osmond, Nebraska on April 6, 1928 to Robert L. Brunckhorst and Ava (Dewey) Brunckhorst. She married Robert "Bob" Agee on April 13, 1954 in El Paso, Texas. They were married for 51 years before his passing in 2005. Aline and Bob moved to Lompoc, from Texas, in 1966 where they lived their remaining years in Vandenberg Village. They traveled to many places during Bob's service in the Air Force. Most memorable were times spent in Guam and Morocco.
Aline was employed at several different Base Exchange posts. She worked at the Vandenberg Base Exchange for many years, until she retired.
She loved her work and achieved numerous awards and much recognition for her outstanding dedication to her job and fellow employees. She achieved over 2500 hours of accrued sick leave, a testament to her dedication.
Aline remained independent until the last few months of her life. She loved taking the Colt bus into Lompoc several times a week to do her shopping. Upon entering Lompoc from the "Y," she would see the green field north of the airport and say, "There's my little piece of Nebraska." She was known by so many people around town, and dearly loved by numerous friends and neighbors, including every cat in the neighborhood. Her polite demeanor made her a wonderfully pleasant lady and a joy to know.
Aline loved her country and had the utmost respect for our service men and women.
She is survived by her sister Wyona Brunckhorst of San Diego, brother Harold Brunckhorst (Mitsue) of Osmond, NE along with 5 nephews and 1 niece. She was preceded in death by her father Robert L. Brunckhorst, her mother Ava (Dewey) Brunckhorst, infant brother Cecil Brunckhorst, her brother Robert Brunckhorst Jr., and husband Robert Agee.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00, Friday, May 1st, 2015 at the Lompoc Cemetery District, luncheon following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Villa Gardens, Residential Care Facility, 3648 Via Gala, Lompoc, CA 93436.
