Alma "Peaches" Montgomery, 70, wife of the late Willie "Monty" Montgomery, who was a long-time Lompoc resident, departed this earth Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 26, 1945, in Maude, Mississippi, the second of 15 children, to Lula Mae Dinwoody and the late Lee Oscar Ford.
Although of humble beginnings, Peaches went on to explore the world in 1964 as she proudly served her country in the Army and Air Force until she was honorably discharged in 2000. Throughout her life, Peaches loved exploring new places, learning the history of cities, and exploring museums. Quiet as it was kept, she was a Raiders Fan!

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 29 years, father, and siblings Hattie Webb, Ida, Valencia, Valerie, Jerry, and Kevin.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends. A viewing will be hosted on Saturday, December 26, 2015, from 1 pm to 4 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc. We ask that visitors wear pink in remembrance. A repast will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Lompoc Veterans Memorial Building.
