Obituary
Alma R. Wuest of Lompoc died Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the age of 71.
Alma was born September 29, 1944, in Ensenada, Mexico, to Jose and Leonor Rodriguez. Her family came to the United States when she was two years old. A resident of Lompoc since 1948, she attended local schools, completing her education by earning degrees in education at Allan Hancock College.
Alma worked as a beautician for ten years before learning of an opportunity to teach children with the Head Start Program in Lompoc. She loved working for Head Start. She looked forward to going to work every day. She retired after 26 years.
Alma was known for her kindness as a caregiver and problem solver. She loved to cook and take care of her family. She frequently volunteered for VIVA in Lompoc.
Alma is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert; sons Paul Munoz of Lompoc, James Wuest of Lompoc, Bobby Wuest of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Brent Wuest of Reno, Nevada; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister Estella Amador of Ensenada, Mexico, sister Barbra Milendez of Los Angeles, California, brother Robert Rodriguez of Ensenada, Mexico, brother Ismael Rodriguez of Lompoc, and sister Sara Rodriguez of Lompoc. Alma was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Munoz and brother Jimmy Rodriguez.
Services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 1 pm, at Lompoc Cemetery District. Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, Directors.
