It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Beloved Husband, Stepfather, Brother, and Grandfather Alva Leon Grider who passed away unexpectedly on February 14th 2023, in Lompoc California.

Leon was born on March 15,1952 to Alva Dotson of Colorado and Florence Warner of Colorado. Leon enjoyed being in the comfort of his own home watching numerous different TV shows. He loved getting visits from all his children and grandchildren. His favorite hobbies were fishing and barbecuing while enjoying good food with his family. He also enjoyed riding on his electric scooter (on turbo mode) as he would say, to pick up his grad daughter Lissy Bear for frequent visits. He always enjoyed the company of all his children and grandchildren.

Leon is survived by his wife of 25 years Rolyne Grider, his five stepchildren Rosemary Lopez, Andrew Chavez, John Chavez, Hope Alvarado, Socorro (Sokie) Alvarado, sisters Janet, Pistol, Charlene, Elaine, Josie, Fred, Oscar, and Tony, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Leon was proceeded in death by his mother, father, and his niece Tiffany Porter.

We will be holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 4th, 2023, at 2 pm at Crossroads Community Church, with a reception following right after at the American legion hall. All who knew Leon are all welcome to come celebrate his new life in heaven with us.
