Obituary
Alyssa passed away tragically at the very young age of 15 in a head on collision on Sunday September 14, 2008. She was born May 4, 1993 in Bakersfield, Ca.
She spent the first six years of her life growing up in the Cuyama Valley where she attended the Cuyama Valley Christian Academy. Alyssa and her mom then moved to Orcutt where she attended Pine Grove Elementary School until the middle of third grade. In third grade they moved to Lompoc where she attended La Canada Elementary School. It was at La Canada where she met her best friend until the day of her death Vanessa Macias. Alyssa also attended Lompoc Valley Middle School and was currently a sophomore at Lompoc High School. Alyssa was not only on the Volleyball team; she also played on the Water polo team. She loved playing both these sports and also loved playing her electric guitar, punk rock music, chatting on the computer and her dog Casey. Alyssa was also a participant in the Space Technology and Robotics Program at Lompoc High. She had goals of attending Washington State and hopefully working for NASA one day. She was very ambitious, insisting on having a part time job at Triple DDD Grill in Lompoc.
Alyssa brightened a room just by entering, always having a smile on her face. Her family and friends meant the world to her; they were a huge part of her life. Especially her mother who dedicated her life to raising this beautiful, talented and kind daughter. Alyssa referred to her mother as "her hero"!
Her mother, Juanita Miller of Lompoc; her father, Richard Pommerville of Taft, CA; her brother Nicholas Pommerville of Taft, CA; her sister Erica Pommerville of Taft, CA; her grandmother, Dorothy Miller of Lompoc; her uncle Carlous Miller of Cuyama, CA; Aunt Wilma Southwood of Santa Maria, CA; Aunt and Uncle Fred and Neosk Miller of Bakersfield, CA; several cousins; and too many friends to count survive Alyssa. She will be missed by all her knew her.
A viewing will take place at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary In Lompoc, CA on Monday, September 22, 2008 from 4 pm to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at Lompoc Cemetery on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 3 pm with a potluck reception to follow at First Southern Baptist Church located at 1009 East Pine Street in Lompoc
