Amy A. Gonzales, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Amy passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

Amy attended the historic Artesia school of Lompoc. She worked as a cook for over 50 years for many local establishments including El Zarape, Hi's Restaurant, Lompoc Hospital District, Lompoc Elks Lodge and The Lodge of Lompoc. Amy enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and her all-time favorite pastime of visiting local and distant casinos with her beloved friend Pat Olsen.

Amy is survived by her children Teresa (George) Barlow of Bishop, Sandra (Alfonso) Aguirre of Bakersfield, Rene (Carlos) Quintero of Guadalupe, Refugio (Sonya) Gonzales of Lompoc, Eva Marie Washington of Lompoc, Daniel (Sandra) Gonzales of Lompoc, Lorenzo (Gloria) Gonzales of Lompoc, sister Pat (Norm) Donahue of Oregon, sister Rosalie (Gustavo) Zepeda of Lompoc, brother Christopher Bobo of Lompoc, Henry Bobo of Santa Maria, Victor (Kim) Bobo of Lompoc, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Eva Bobo and husband Refugio G. Gonzales, both of Lompoc.

The visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011, from 4-8 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 27, at 10 am at the North Avenue Baptist Church in Lompoc, followed by burial at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

Her family would like to thank all of the family and friends who came to visit Amy when she could no longer get around. Special thanks go to her sister-in-law Manuela Gonzales for always being there for her, during the good and the bad days. An extra special thanks to Marian Hospice for their kindness and support they showed to Amy during her time of need.
