Obituary

Andi passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 after an extended battle with cancer. Her family and friends were by her side.

Andi was born in Santa Barbara on November 28, 1951 to Joseph "Joey" and Barbara Cabral. The Cabral family worked and lived in the Lompoc area. Andi was among the third generation of the Cabral/Mundell families. Andi spent her childhood and early adult years living on the family ranch on San Julian Road. Raised in a ranching environment; she developed a love for the outdoors and horses. She became an avid Dodger fan as a kid and was often seen in the front yard pitching baseballs or walnuts. Besides her love of the Dodgers she was a huge 49ers fan. Andi attended Lompoc area schools, graduated from Lompoc High School with an accolade of awards and achievements for tennis and track. She attended Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria with an A.S. Degree as a dental assistant. Andi met and married George Taylor II of Lompoc in 1972. They had two children and were happily married for 41 years. Andi was a loving mother raising two daughters and assisting George with bookkeeping for the local 76 service station they owned. Andi (aka "Grandi") adored her grandkids and loved being a grandmother. She was an amazing cook entertaining family and friends at her house for holidays and frequent BBQ's. She rode horses and was a talented roper attending countless brandings over the years supporting local ranchers and neighbors. She also loved playing slow pitch softball where she met lifelong friends. Andi could be found several days a week golfing at La Purisima golf course; where she combined her love of sports and nature.

Andi is survived by her husband George and her two daughters Leigh (Ronnie) Johnson of Lompoc, Kelly (Kevin) Strupp of Paso Robles. Her two grandchildren: Casey Strupp and Jessica Johnson. Her mother Barbara Cabral, and her sisters Melinda (Matt) Rapisardo of Santa Rosa, Sheila (Dan) Gunter of Lompoc and Chrissy Cabral of Lompoc. She has numerous relatives and close friends, especially Mary Smolley who is considered part of Andi's extended family. Andi was preceded in death by her father Joey Cabral.

A special thank you to: Dr. Walker and her staff for her care.
