October 12, 1934 – September 13, 2023
Angelo P. Arevalos, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on September 13th, 2023. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family. Angelo was born in Lompoc, California, on October 12th, 1934, to Amalia and Jesus Arevalos, and was one of ten children. Angelo was raised in Lompoc, California, and married the love of his life, Candelaria 'Candy' Arevalos, on December 15th, 1956. He is survived by his brother, Richard Arevalos, his children; Susan Olivas (Tony), Angelo Arevalos, Jr. (RaeAnn), Robert Arevalos (Sandy) and Anna Hernandez (Dave).
He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Renee Olivas, Amy Grajeda, Lindsey Velasco, Adam and Matt Arevalos, Tricia Rueger and ten great grandchildren.
Angelo was well known for his 1971 green Chevy truck, which is still running. His truck was driven by many family members and friends; three on a tree.
He was a cement finisher with the Cement Mason's Local No. 600 Union. He was a union member for 35+ years and retired in 1994 to spend quality time with his family and helping them with projects around their homes.
Angelo was known as Grandpa and Abuelo. He had a special bond with each of his grandkids, spoiling them in his own special way. He attended their sports events as much as he could. His grandkids always said that he could fix anything in his 'workshop'.
He will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him. He had the kindest smile and biggest heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Ignacio, John, Foley, Virginia, Alice and Nieves and his two beloved grandchildren, Angelo 'Junie' Arevalos and Melissa Perez.
The family would like to thank his brother Richard and his wife Betty for their weekly visits from Alta Loma. The family appreciated the time they spent with Angelo and Candy. We would also like to thank his niece Jennie Stutts for helping and caring for Angelo and Candy. The family could always count on her for meals, doctor appointment rides and all of the support that she provided. Another big thank you to a lifelong family friend, Liz Rojas for always being there for Angelo and Candy with her caring and loving support.
A mass will be held at La Purisima Concepcion Catholic Church at 213 W. Olive Ave., at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023. Burial to follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery at 600 South C Street, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Events Mission Valley at 138 N. B Street, Lompoc.
