Ann Niro of Lompoc passed away Sunday, September 17, 2006 in Santa Paula at the age of 81. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
Ann was born April 16, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio to Anton and Josephine Sercel. After graduating from high school she went to work in the defense industry assembling airplanes. She also worked for a short time with General Electric.
A resident of Lompoc since 1969, Ann's chosen career was as a homemaker. She devoted herself to the raising of her children, Barbara and John. She loved to cook and garden, and was a member of La Purisima Catholic Church.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband John in 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Niro of Nova Scotia; son, John Niro, Jr. and his wife Chris of Lompoc; sisters, Josephine Hammeran of Lompoc, and Rose Micale of Mentor, Ohio; brother Tony Sercel of Michigan; grandchildren, John, Matthew and Michelle; and great grandson, Gabriel. Her brother John Sercel also preceded her in death.
Cremation will be followed by private inurnment. Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
