Anthony "Tony" Grossi was born in Lompoc, California on January 26, 1956 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 19, 2012.
Tony attended Lompoc High School where he succeeded in academics and was Lompoc High's running back from 1973 to 1974. Tony obtained an associates degree at Santa Barbara City College where he was the running back from 1975 to 1976. Later he attended two years at Occidental Ivy League College in Los Angeles, California and was their running back from 1977 to 1978.
Tony met his wife Rhonda in 1994 and later moved to Coffeyville, Kansas. There Tony married, raised his family and worked as an Industrial Valve Sales Representative.
One of Tony's passions was coaching. His intensity and dexterity were the kind that made many seek his experience and knowledge. He was an assistant football coach with Field Kindley High School and a volunteer with the local recreation department and several traveling teams. Tony possessed an ability to convey to young athletes the success that lay just beyond their easy reach, things like dedication and not letting fear of failure keep you from attempting the kinds of things that bring glory. He was taught these things by powerful influences in his life and was intent on doing the same for the young people he worked with. This particular skill set allowed him to be a positive influence in the lives of hundreds of young people over many years, the kind of influence that goes far beyond the fields of youth.
Tony believed his largest accomplishment was accepting his Lord and Savior in 1999. He was the guitar player for the praise and worship team at Emmanuel Chapel Church as well as served eight years on its board committee. Tony touched all who came in contact with him, whether it was through coaching sports, God's word, or simply being a true friend. He will be greatly missed. We love You Tony!
Tony is survived by his loving wife Rhonda Grossi, sons AJ and Luis Grossi, Devon and Chris Segundo, his only daughter Jennifer Segundo, his parents Louis and Madeline Grossi, his brother Alray, sisters Cindy and Gina, his grandchildren Jocelyn Bauer, Alyssa, Anthony and Leah Grossi, nephews Michael and Jason, and nieces Tawny and Taylor. He also had many brother, sister niece and nephew-in-laws and father-in-law that were a large part of his life for whom he loved and was loved.
