On August 13, 2007, Anthony Jay "Tony" Tharp passed away. Tony was a big teddy bear and everyone loved him.
Tony loved to barbecue. He was half of the T & D Redneck Barbecue team. He loved to fish, hunt and coach baseball. Most of all he loved his niece, two nephews, his great niece and two great nephews.
He is survived by his parents, Dick and Vickie Tharp; his sister and brother-in-law, Donna and David Rainwater; nephew, Paul Rainwater; niece and her husband, Amanda and Tom French and their children, Dylan, Olivia and Evan; sister, Cristina Newby and her son Anthony and their friend Cody. He also leaves behind his grandmother Neva Smith of Elmo, Utah, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The memorial service will be on Monday, August 20, at 2 pm at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 500 West North Avenue in Lompoc.
To help with Tony's final expenses his partner David White and his wife Jackie will be putting on a fundraising barbecue at the Pommerville Service Station on the corner of H Street and West North Avenue on Saturday, August 25, from 11 am to 2 pm.
