Vigil services for Antonio M. Delgado, 94, of Lompoc, will be 6 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at La Purisima Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Delgado was born October 26, 1912 in La Encarnacion, Jalisco, Mexico to Ramon and Paulina Macias Delgado. He was longtime resident of Lompoc and earlier worked in maintenance at the Gaviota Inn. Since the early 70's, Antonio belonged to the Mexican Social Organization and was one of their oldest living and active members. Tony was a big baseball fan and especially loved the Los Angeles Dodger's.
He died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at home with his family by his side.
Survivors include his wife, Belia of Lompoc; daughters, Jennie Centeno, Carmen Amadore, Tillie Sandoval, Theresa Ruiz, Rachel Chavez, and Lisa Garcia all of Lompoc, Teresa Rodriquez of San Bernardino, and Rita McLain of Oxnard; son, Vincent Garcia of Oregon; sisters, Petra Delgado and Maria Delgado both of Mexico; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Delgado.
Visitation hours will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
