Antonio "Toni" Pope
January 25, 1950 – April 5, 2023
My beautiful wife went quietly to Heaven to her Savior's arms after a short illness with sepsis and pneumonia. I will have to wait until I join her in Heaven to again hold her in my arms, see her smile, hear her laugh, or kiss her lips.
Toni was the youngest of two children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Dorothy Mini and sister Sandra Martin. She is survived by her two sons and their families, which include three grandchildren and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Toni loved family reunions. Her dad had 15 siblings and her mom had seven, so reunions on either side were BIG. But not as big as her family reunion in Heaven.
Toni was born in Brawley, California, went to high school in Bellflower, California and in 1966, we met, dated, and got married in 1969, and moved to Lompoc in 1973. For 53 years we rode the ups and downs of an amazing, wonderful, loving and exciting relationship. We were rarely apart, with blessings of love and good fortune from God.
Toni enjoyed her jobs at Bright Beginnings Pre-School (22yrs), Penelope's Teas and Gifts (10yrs) and as a Stampin' Up!® Independent Demonstrator (23yrs).
Toni excelled at crafts: sewing, needlepoint, cross-stitch, quilting and most recently, scrapbooking and card making. She loved to do Bible journaling during her quiet time with the Lord. Toni was also an excellent cook and loved making meals for family and friends. She loved doing her yearly teas for her Stampin' Up!® friends, and going to the tearoom in Lompoc regularly. Toni loved decorating for all the Holidays, not just Christmas. She enjoyed eating out, going to the beach, camping, traveling, being with her friends, doing things with her kids and grandkids, and daily on-line Bible study with our "family" of believers. She also loved our three dogs. They wait for her still.
Toni was a loving and kind person, a true giver and a constant friend to those who knew her. She would give whatever was needed. She had a gift to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. She was never short on laughter, generosity or grace under fire. She was like a rainbow; beautiful, colorful, brilliant, and gone all too soon.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6pm on June 5, 2023, at Lompoc Foursquare Church. Contact Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc for information.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a favorite cause of Toni's, the Come and See Foundation (https://www.comeandseefoundation.org/donate). You may make the donation in memory of Toni, if you wish.
