AQUILINA "LILING" HATTENDORF
1937-2007
Aquilina "Liling" Hattendorf died peacefully October 7, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Liling was born June 13, 1937 in the Philippines. She moved to Lompoc in 1971 and made it her permanent home.
She was the owner of Butler Bros. Pizza from 1989 to 2001. She made life-long friends through her business and she enjoyed singing karaoke with them. She had a beautiful voice that so many loved to hear.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her smile, positive attitude, and her love for all people.
Liling is survived by her companion of 25 years, Roger Easterday, her daughter Leilani and son-in-law Jeff Schleuning, her grandchildren Siam, Levi and Elizabeth, all of Las Vegas, NV; her sisters Louisa Hamilton of N. Carolina, Esther Neeley of Georgia, Betty Retz of Los Angeles, CA, Pat Luzung of the Philippines, and Leona Luzung of the Philippines; brothers Carlos Masbad and Angel Masbad of the Phillippines; niece Maria "Bing" Johnson who was like a daughter to her, as well as many nieces and nephews throughout the world. She was preceded in death by her son Kenny who died in 1986.
The family would like to thank Florence Schleuning and John Keller who took her to all of her treatments in Santa Maria. Also, thanks to Dr. Ramos, Dr. Marques, Dr. DiCarlo and the staff of the Convalescent Care Center who kept her comfortable during the last two weeks of her life.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church, 1517 W. College Avenue with Pastor Robert Cornwall officiating. A reception will follow at Albert's Pizza, formerly Butler Bros. Pizza, 129 N. V St.
Cremation arrangements are in the the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
