ARCHIE A. FARLEY
1937-2008
Archie Arvin Farley of Lompoc passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the age of 70. He was born September 9, 1937 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Arvetta and Odis Farley. At age six, his family moved from Idabel, OK to Tulare, CA. Archie grew up in Tulare and graduated from Tulare Union High School.
He was employed by Cal-Trans as a lead maintenance worker for over 25 years until his retirement. He enjoyed attending Bethany Lutheran Church, and was a devoted family man. He loved to gamble, especially at the Chumash Casino, but his number one love was his family. Family gatherings with all his loved ones were some of his most cherished times.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ramona Farley of Lompoc, his only living sister Merlene Davis of Porterville, CA, son and daughter-in-law David and Tammy Farley of Simi Valley, daughter Diane Irwin of Sacramento, son and daughter-in-law Dan and Pam Farley of Lompoc, , grandchildren Joshua and Jacob Irwin, Anthony, Kaytie, and Kristy Farley, and stepgrandchildren Cara and Jack Bean. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvetta and Odis Farley, and his older brother Bill Farley.
A memorial service will take place Monday, August 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 135 South E. St. in Lompoc, with Pastor Joseph Byrd officiating.
