ARLENE M. HAIN
1938-2008
Arlene Marie Hain, age 70 of Lompoc, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008. She was born April 19, 1938 to Francisca and Jule R. Silva in Santa Maria.
Arlene's family lived on Mail Road near Buellton when she was born. They later moved to Lompoc where she was raised, educated, and attended Lompoc High. After high school Arlene met and married Frank Hain and together they had three children. She was a lifelong homemaker and also worked outside the home for various companies such as Gusto's Restaurant, Korb's Trading Post, and Beno's Clothing Store. She also worked for a time as the Office Manager for McMahon's Furniture Store.
She was a member of the United Portuguese Pentecostal Council and La Purisima Concepcion Catholic Church. Her hobbies included fishing, camping, bowling and water skiing. She was also a big sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Dodgers and Lakers.
Arlene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Frank Hain Jr., son and daughter-in-law Jules and Theresa Hain of Lompoc, daughter and son-in-law Arlene and Jeffrey Dotzler of Lompoc, son and daughter-in-law Frank Hain, III and Roberta of Lompoc, eight grandchildren and one great grandson. She is also survived by sisters Evelyn Grossi, Minnie Grossi, and Alice Grossini, all of Lompoc, and brothers Jule R. Silva, Jr. of Lompoc and Manuel Silva of Arizona.
Visitation will take place Sunday, November 9, 2008 from 4-7 pm at La Purisima Concepcion Catholic Church with an evening vigil to begin at 7pm. Father Richard Vega will celebrate the mass of Christian burial on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 10 am, also at La Purisima. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
