Thelma Arlene Hawk passed away on January 11, 2012 while surrounded by her family at home.

Thelma preferred to be called Arlene. She was born on September 21, 1926 in Scottdale, Pennsylvania to William and Elizabeth Felgar. Arlene Hawk was married to the late Elmer Hawk who passed away in 1981. Elmer served his country in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific Rim and was accommodated for his participation at Iwo Jima. They were married in Richmond Virginia on November 19, 1955.

Arlene had four children, Ron Felgar of Santa Barbara, Tim Hawk, Tom Hawk and Kim Hawk, all of Lompoc.

Arlene began her life in the Lompoc Valley in May of 1961 where she and Elmer were members of the United Methodist Church.

Arlene's sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Dorrance Graft of Scottdale, Pennsylvania were in rout to Lompoc to visit with her two daughters Tammy and Bev when their Aunt Arlene bowed out from this life.

Arlene is survived by eight grandchildren, Timmy, Chris, Libby, Tommy, Ashley, Brad, Victor and Liane, three great grandchildren, C.J., Daphne and Leena and daughters-in-law Jeri Hawk and Anna Hawk.

Arlene's passions throughout her life were holidays with her family, old movies, and most notably, to watch her children and grandchildren play sports (old yellowed newspaper clippings and pictures adorned her walls) and a fair amount of Bingo with her dear friend Sue Marshall.

A remarkable woman, a kind patient and loving mother… God's speed Mom.

A gray haired old lady with an insatiable appetite for spending time with her grandkids… God love you Grandma.

A cremains service at Lompoc Cemetery pavilion will be conducted on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11 am. In leu of flowers the family asks that donations be made on her behalf to the Methodist Church in Lompoc or the Friendship House in Santa Ynez or the Veteran's Administration.
