With heavy hearts, our beloved Armando Isabel Perez (87), of Lompoc, CA, an Elder of the Santa Ynez Chumash Tribal and an advocate for indigenous people passed away on August 28, 2024 at Marian Hospital in Santa Maria to be with our Heavenly Father. Armando was born on November 5, 1936 in Santa Barbara, CA to parents Teofilo and Christina "Armanda" Romero Perez.
Armando was known for his love of motorcycles and was often seen around town on his cherished Harley-Davidsons. His passion for motorcycles was evident to all who knew him, he enjoyed learning and exploring the intricacies of the motorcycle where he often was pulling apart everything just so he could see how it worked. He also had a passion for vintage cars that evolved into a respected collection.
Growing up, Armando enjoyed raising various birds with his beloved mother and spending time with his family and friends on Kimball Street in Santa Barbara, CA. His pride and joy were his chihuahua dog "Chorizo" and spending time at his ranches which brought him tranquility.
Armando will be greatly missed by his survived family, his daughter, Patty Hogan-Perez, brothers Bernard Perez and his wife Lois, Ted Perez and his wife Teresa, Albert Perez and his deceased wife Victoria "Vicky", Paul Lopez, sisters Dolores Marie Chavez and her deceased husband Antonio, Teresann "Teddy" Bowers and her deceased husband Phillip, Martha "Marty" Ybarra and her deceased husband Lou, Maria Perez, Rebecca "Becky" Perez Abrahams and her husband Dennis. Armando also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Armando is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Robert Perez, Alfonso Perez, Arthur Ortega and sister, Annie "Anita" Lopez Florez.
