ARTHUR "ART" HOCKEY
1936 - 2008
After a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), Art Hockey passed away in his home on Sunday, October 19, 2008.
Art was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan on April 17, 1936. He moved to Santa Barbara in the mid 60's. Art worked for Consolidated Overhead Door for nearly 30 years. He was passionate about golf and belonged to the Village Country Club for 10 years. He also did many wood burning drawings for family members and friends over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, Judy's parents in Santa Barbara, and his grandchildren that meant the world to him; Amanda Bovee, Carter Bovee, and Joshua Logue, all from Lompoc.
A memorial service will be held at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to Marian Hospice in Santa Maria, who took such good care of Art.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
