Obituary
Lithuanian-born Asta Maria Elliott came to America with her sister Laimute and their parents in October 1949 in the wake of European political unrest following World War II.
Asta was reared in Michigan and lived most of her life there. She married and divorced twice, including once to a policeman in Dearborn, Mich. Asta loved animals and the outdoors. She followed her sister to California in 2001 and has resided in Lompoc where she has worked as a caregiver for the last 11 years. She was a very kind soul who would never harm any living thing, and leaves behind many loved ones and the lives she touched.
She died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in Lompoc.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
Survivors include her daughter Nicole Cook of Michigan; sister Laimute Laporte of Lompoc and brother Al Tumas of Illinois.
