Athel Ausan, 66, of Lompoc, passed away on January 3, 2026. Athel was born July 29, 1959, in the Philippines and came to the United States in 1974. Athel served in the United States Navy for 4 years. He was a retired Postal Clerk. Athel was an avid fisherman; he enjoyed spending time with friends and family singing karaoke, going on adventures with his two sons and wife, but most of all, he loved the Lord with all his heart and soul. Athel is survived by his wife Maricris, two sons Matthew and Elijah; his siblings Emma Morente, Elsa DeJesus, Anacleto Ausan, Elma Reisdorf, Alex (Nerissa) Ausan, and Allan (Cheryl) Ausan; sister-in-laws Bing Ausan and Eleanora Ausan; and numerous extended family members and friends. Athel is preceded in death by his parents, Paulino and Maria Ausan, brothers Adam and Romeo Ausan, brother-in-laws Manuel Morente, Leonardo DeJesus, and Kirk Reisdorf.

Viewing will be held in Lompoc from 4-7 pm on Friday, January 23, 202,6, at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5:30 pm. A Mass service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 24, 202,6, at the Queen of Angels Church in Lompoc.
