Aurora Quintero Gonzalez
March 16, 1931 – February 12, 2023
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great‐Grandmother, Aurora Quintero Gonzalez, passed away unexpectantly at the age of 91 on February 12, 2023. She was born on March 16, 1931, in Los Angeles, CA, to Jose M. and Josefina Quintero. Aurora moved to Lompoc in 1953, where she resided for the rest of her life.
Aurora married Natalicio R. Gonzalez in 1953. Together they raised five children: Robert Gonzalez (Chavela), Ben Gonzalez (Anna), Henry Gonzalez (Jeannie), Mary Ramos (Alfonso), and Josie (Mark). Aurora had nine grandchildren who she helped to raise from a very young age: Rachel, Joseph, Chavelita, Monica, Robert Jr., Diana, Michelle, Steven, and Gabriela; and several great‐grandchildren. Aurora also leaves behind her two sisters, Esther Quintero and Nellie Brown.
Aurora was a beloved homemaker who loved to cook, crochet, and garden. She was known to keep an immaculate house and yard, which was well known throughout the neighborhood, and was known to cook delicious meals including Pozole, Carne con Chile, Mole, and home‐made tortillas. She also made amazing birthday cakes for her kids when they were growing up. Aurora grew beautiful carnations and other flowers in her garden, along with numerous fruit trees. In her younger years she volunteered with Mother's Helping Hands and worked on many of their fundraisers. Aurora could always be seen at the laundromat on "H" Street, and at the 7:30 am Mass on Sunday mornings at La Purisima Catholic Church.
Aurora was preceded in death by her loving husband, Natalicio R. Gonzalez, and her parents, Jose M. and Josefina Quintero.
Aurora will be truly missed, but never forgotten, as she will be remembered and loved by her family and many more. We'll see you on the other side Mom.
