Obituary

Our beloved mother, Barbara Berryhill, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on March 13, 2007. Barbara was born April 12, 1921 in Somerville, Massachusetts. She graduated from Classical High School in Worchester, Massachusetts. Barbara married Charles Berryhill in Worchester, Massachusetts in 1943. Then in 1946, they moved to Oxnard, California where she was busy as a homemaker and mother for their three children. They moved to Lompoc in 1965 and recently celebrated their 62"d wedding anniversary. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents Edith and James, and her brother Arnold.

Barbara was a prolific writer, artist, and doll maker. She has written several children's stories and books, some of which were published. She also composed several Christian songs, one of which was published in the Maranatha Music Praise Song Book. Her love of painting and sculpting later helped her in the creation of her porcelain and wooden dolls. Barbara was one of the original founders of the Valley of the Flowers Doll Club. She was its first president along with being an original doll artist. Barbara was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene where she was active in the choir, Women's Ministries, and Senior Adult Ministries.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Bruce (Martha Curtis) Berryhill of Richmond, Virginia, Nancy (Benjamin) Lindsey of Kamuela, Hawaii, Susan (Wilbur) Ur of Lompoc; eight grandchildren, Amber, Joshua, Marie, Keola, Lorianne, lan, Rebecca, and Sarah; and five great grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Matthew. Lilly, and Emma.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 500 East North Street in Lompoc. Pastor Duane Armstrong will officiate. Private inurnment will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
