IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Louise
Dameron
September 30, 1935 – September 12, 2025
Barbara Louise Dameron, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Barbara was born on September 30, 1935, to Clarke and Naomi Allinson in Turlock, CA. She grew up in Delhi, California, where she attended local schools before graduating from Livingston High School. She went on to study at Cal State San Francisco, and while pursuing her education, she continued to nurture the love story that had begun many years before.
Barbara and her husband, Floyd L. Dameron, first met in first grade. Their lifelong bond began when Floyd offered her a valentine, and from that moment, their paths remained intertwined. They attended high school together, went to prom, exchanged love letters through their college years, and eventually married in 1957. Their marriage was a true testament to enduring love, spanning nearly six decades until Floyd's passing in 2014.
Together, Barbara and Floyd built a warm and welcoming home in Lompoc, raising their daughter, Lynell, and later celebrating the joy of grandchildren. Barbara was deeply devoted to her family, finding her greatest happiness in supporting her loved ones and creating lasting traditions. She shared Floyd's love for travel, and together they journeyed across the globe, making memories with family and friends.
Friends and family remember Barbara for her dedication and compassion, both in her career and in her personal life. She was a well-respected kindergarten teacher who cherished her students and loved her 45 years in the classroom. She valued the community she found at the First United Methodist Church, where she nurtured friendships and faith. Barbara also had a deep love for music and the arts, and she encouraged her family to appreciate travel, creativity, and the importance of spending quality time together.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Lynell Hanck and son-in-law Patrick Hanck of Arroyo Grande; granddaughters Megan Skilling and Emma Hanck; and many extended family members and friends who will carry forward her legacy of love and faith.
A service to honor Barbara's life will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Lompoc on November 1, 2025, at 1 PM, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Foundation, 925 North F Street, Lompoc, CA 93436.
