Barbara Kathleen Quinn of Lompoc died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the age of 78.


Barbara was born May 17, 1929 in Reading, England to Fred and Kathleen Gregory. She married Philip Quinn, an airman stationed in England, in 1951. After an assignment to Vandenberg A.F.B. in 1959, they decided to settle in Lompoc.

Barbara retired from Allan Hancock College Book Store in Santa Maria, where she served as the Assistant Manager for 20 years. In her free time she enjoyed her family, her lovely garden, traveling and shopping.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Philip in 1976. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands and children: Colleen and Mike McAntee of Castle Rock, Colorado (Stephanie, Amy, Kelli); and Siobhan and Joe Melatti of Lompoc, (Jobhan, Shauna, Alisha); sons and their wives and children: Kevin and Olivia Quinn of Ventura, (Kim, Chris, Mark, Janelle, Kyle); and Sean and Jan Quinn of Fairfield, California (Megan, Michael); and her great granddaughter Jayden; her sisters Pat Willis of Biloxi, Mississippi and Wendy Rea of England; her brothers Dave, Terry, Trevor and Michael Gregory, all of England, and numerous other relatives from the Quinn and Gregory sides of the family, in addition to wonderful friends and neighbors. She was also preceded in death by her brother Derek Gregory.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary chapel led by Reverend John Reil of Peace Lutheran Church. Cremation will be followed by private interment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
