Barbara Ward passed away on November 7, 2015 at the age of 81.

She was born September 19, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph Strenk and Julia Patuski. As a child she loved spending time in Coney Island. In 1953 she met the love of her life, Everett M. Ward, Jr. (Ed) on St Patrick's Day in Times Square. They married that year in Holy Family Church in Brooklyn, New York.

Barbara lived many places in the United States and overseas while Ed was in the Air Force. She had a successful Civil Service career at Vandenberg AFB as a project analyst supervisor. She retired in 1997 after 34 years.

Barbara loved spending time with her large family, friends and of course her Maltese dogs, especially Lexi and sharing memories at her San Miguelito Canyon home. She loved to dance and have a great time.

Barbara is survived by her sons Stephen, Mark, Patrick, and Frank; daughters Kimberlee Morgan and Julie (Keith) Pickles; her stepfather Joseph Herbert; sister Irene Hilliard; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett M. Ward, Jr.; mother Julia Mc Cormick; stepfather Frank McCormick; father Joseph Strenk; brothers George and Joseph Strenk; and her mother-in-law Loraine Herbert.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 20, 2015, at 1pm at San Miguelito Canyon Park with Mike Cottam officiating. There will be a reception following the service at the Veteran's Memorial Building.
