Barbara Jean Whitmore passed away peacefully on October 6, 2011.

Her beloved husband of 52 years, Charles A. Whitmore, preceded her in death in 2010 as well as her two lovely daughters Debbie and Margaret who died way before their time. She is survived by her son Charles A. Whitmore, Jr. and five grandchildren.

Barbara was a devoted Navy Captain's wife for over 30 years and a loving mother to three wonderful children.

The Whitmore family wishes to acknowledge and thank her numerous caregivers who watched over Barbara and Charles with compassion and dignity the last several years of their lives.

The graveside funeral service will be on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 2pm at the Oak Hill Cemetery on Baseline Road in Solvang. There will be a memorial service between 2pm and 6pm at the Whitmore home on Saturday, November 12. Please call 733-2852 for directions.
