Basilisa Villegas of Lompoc passed away Monday, October 16, 2006 at the age of 93.
Born April 1, 1913 in San Fabian, Pangasinan, in the Philippine Islands to German and Marcela Zarate, Basilisa moved to Guam in 1963 and became a resident of Lompoc in 1990. She was a lifelong homemaker who loved to sew and sing.
Basilisa is survived by her children and their spouses, Adoracion Dagdagan of San Jose, Rodrigo and Gloria Villegas of San Leandro, Remedios and Bonnie Tangalin of Guam, Florencio and Carmen Villegas of San Diego, Nida and Narciso Castro of Guam, and Vicente and Beverlyn Villegas of Lompoc, 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Daniel Villegas in 1972.
The visitation will be on Sunday, October 22, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., with an evening vigil at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, October 23, at 10:00 a.m. at La Purisima Concepcion Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
