Rebecca Vegas, 56, of Lompoc died tragically on Friday, May 13, 2011. Becky, as she was known, was born on September 20, 1954 in San Jose, California. Her parents were Antonio Dominguez, Vincent and Rose Martinez. She grew up in the Lompoc area and attended Cabrilo High School.


In 1974, Becky married Daniel Vegas, Jr. They had three boys and she worked as a full-time mom. She had the pleasure of working at Your Place or Mine for 9 years meeting and touching various lives. She always had a big hug and a kiss to give along with an unforgettable smile. She loved all different kinds of activities; bowling, darts, cards, walking and just a good conversation.

Becky is survived by her husband of over 36 years; Daniel Vegas Jr., her sons; Daniel Vegas III, J.P. Vegas and A.J. Vegas, her mother Rose C. Martinez, her siblings; Henry P. Dominguez, Rachel A. Bustillos, Lorraine Macias, Carol Garcia Terrones, Mona R. Gelow, Eileen Martinez, Rita Dominguez, Vince Martinez Jr., Celina Martinez-Quan, Marie Wales, and Michael Martinez, and 7 grandchildren; Aleiza, Kaden, Jasalyn, Johnny, A.J. Jr. (Pappas), Scarlet, and Helena. She was preceded in death by her fathers Vincent Martinez and Antonio Dominguez, brother Jesse Dominguez and sister Sylvia M. Medina.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2pm in the Chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, a public visitation will be held from noon till the start of the service.
