IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Belia Terrones
Delgado
April 24, 1923 – November 19, 2023
Belia Terrones Delgado, age 100, went home to be with the Lord on November 19th, 2023.
Belia was born on April 24, 1923, to Martin Silva Terrones and Atilana Garcia Terrones in Pacoima, California, and was the eldest daughter of eight siblings. It was in Santa Cruz, California where she met our father Vicente Garcia. They made the decision to move to Lompoc in the early 1950s, marry and raise a family.
Belia stayed at home to raise her family and was a loving and devoted mom and wife. Mom started cooking at a camp here in town that housed workers who were brought in from Mexico and that's when her awesome cooking and famous "Tamales" began. In the late 1960s, they divorced and Mom married her last love of 55 years, Antonio Delgado.
Belia was a strong Christian woman with a sense of values she passed on to her children. Belia's talent as a cook came in handy as her family grew and grew through seven generations. "Belia's daughters," as we were known, will always remember her amazing cooking skills at home and in Mexican restaurants. One famous restaurant was the "El Zarape", in the early 1960s, best "Chile Verde" ever, then "Casa de Cota" where she retired in 1993. During Mom's restaurant career, she made many friends which later became her "Comadres." She managed to work, raise her children and always had food for anyone who stopped by to visit. She was a beautiful and generous person who was so loved by many people and who will miss her dearly.
Mom was a lifetime member of the "Mexican Social Organization" club. She loved to dance, sing and enjoyed listening to the old "Ranchito" music.
She had such a warm personality, kindest heart and smile that made her easy to talk to, fun to laugh with, and someone to confide in. She was so grateful to live a long life with the people she loved. Nothing made her happier than watching her family grow. Mom has joined her sweetheart in Heaven. She missed him so much and we can only imagine how beautiful their reunion was.
On behalf of our family, a special thank you to Lompoc Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation for all your outstanding love, compassion, kindness and friendship so freely given to our mother. Our gratitude is beyond measure.
Rest in Peace Mom. "Your Wings were Ready, Our Hearts were not." You will be deeply missed. No other words can be expressed for our loss.
Belia is survived by two sisters: Consuelo Terrones, and Hortencia Robles of Lompoc, eight daughters and one son: Jennie Centeno, Carmen Amador, Tillie Sandoval, Theresa Ruiz, Rachel Chavez, Lisa Garcia all of Lompoc, Rita McLain (Tom) of Oxnard, Theresa Rodriguez (Roy) of San Bernardino and son Vincent Garcia (Julie) of Oregon, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren.
