In loving memory of wife, mother and grandmother Bessie Pearl Hadley, who passed away on June 18, 2013. She was born on August 28, 1923 in Rawlins, Kansas to Charles Owen Mays and Mabel Blanche Sullivan. She moved to the Lompoc Valley in 1962.
She loved arts and crafts, painting, collecting dolls, traveling and was an exceptional cook. She also worked as a docent for the La Purisima Mission for many years.
She is survived by her daughter Becky Joeene Dodson of Hagerstown, Maryland and son Robert LeRoy Hadley of Lompoc, as well as stepdaughters Linda Smith, Leann Nelson, Rhonda Koskimaki and Wanda Lee Hadley, stepsons Larry Hadley and Leon Hadley, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters Ada Shruben and Elsie Bryan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert Joe Hadley who passed away on March 1, 2011, and her sons Walter J. Panamaroff and William D. Panamaroff, as well as her brothers Dean Mays, Owen Mays and Delbert Mays, sisters Blanche Ballard and Elma Hayes.
Funeral services will be held at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary on Friday, June 28th at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lompoc Mural Society at the Chamber of Commerce, 111 South I. Street in Lompoc.
