Betty Lou (Briody) Derrington of Lompoc, California passed away peacefully on January 13, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born on August 4th, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to Union and Mary Briody. She Graduated from Central High School in 1949 in Evansville, Indiana and was a member of the National Honor Society. She went on to graduate from Alan Hancock College with a degree in business. She was employed at Federal Electric Corporation on VAFB where she worked as an Accountant. Betty eventually retired as the Plant Accountant at the University of California, Irvine.
She was a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star and worked as an advisor with the masonic youth organizations. Betty will be dearly missed by her friends and family. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her sense of humor and her dedication to her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Norble Derrington of Lompoc; her daughters Jerri L. Mann of Lompoc, and Merri L. Blodgett of Manteca, California, and her son, Norble (Buck) Derrington also from Lompoc. She had three grandchildren; Mindy Blodgett of Yountville, Jason Blodgett of Modesto, and Lori Mann of Davis, California.
There will be Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 14th at 11am at the Dick Dewees Senior Center followed by a reception.
