Betty Marie Freeman, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away on December 17, 2013, at the age of 61. Betty was born May 21, 1952, in Springfield, TN, to the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Freeman.
Betty graduated as salutatorian from Bransford High School in 1970. She then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business, along with a Teaching Credential, from Tennessee State University. Before her illness, she enjoyed reading and exercising; she was also a very caring and giving person. Betty accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member at Greater South Baptist Church; she later converted to Catholicism and attended services in Los Angeles, CA.
Betty leaves to mourn the following: Sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Ralf Bialass; brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Shonderla Freeman; brother, James Freeman; nieces and nephews: Terry Wayne Darden; Demarcus and Rachel Freeman; Jennifer and Billy Washington; Kenya and Marion Gray; Terricka Hardy and Termeshia Darden; Imania, Jayla and Jacalyn Freeman; Savannah Janke; Peggy, Kayla and Mariyah Gray; Jordan Washington, Ayden Wester, and Mason Freeman. She was preceded in death by a loving sister, Peggy Ann Magee. She is also survived by a very dear God Sister, Jacqueline Mingo, and daughter, Kiana Rushdan. Also surviving are dear friends Robin Elkins, Lyn Mills and Joyce Gatel, and many other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be on December 24 from 10 am-12pm, and the memorial service will be on December 27 at 3pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
