Long-time Lompoc resident Betty Joan Hutton passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013.
Betty was the Light of the Lord and she loved everyone and was loved by all who met her. She shared her faith and shared her heart openly without reservation. Often she could be heard saying how much she loved people…all people, which was evidenced throughout her life and how she ministered to others.
She had many strengths and gifts that were exemplified as she greeted and served in compassionate care at Trinity Church, worked as convalescent care homes, delivered for Meals on Wheels, involvements with AA and Al-Anon, enjoyment with her English group friends, etc. It seems appropriate that she was born on the 4th of July because she had an exciting and fun spirit that made people want to be part of her life. She was openly honest, compassionate and would tell you how she perceived something with grace and wisdom. No one was a better prayer warrior or story teller and we learned so much about life through her humor as well by her examples of solid Christian living. She will be so dearly missed by all whose lives she touched with her love.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her son, Chris Hutton of Lompoc and his wife Lilybeth, grandson Brian Hutton, great granddaughter Zoe Hutton and niece Kay Nunn. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband of more than 40 years, Billy T. Hutton.
Services will be held at Trinity Nazarene Church on Friday, June 14th at 2:00 pm; 500 E. North St. Lompoc, Ca. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trinity Church @ 500 North St. Lompoc or to the Alano Club (AA organization that Billy and Betty helped founded) at 119 North D St., Lompoc, Ca. 93436.
