Beverly Ann Kempton of Lompoc died Monday, October 5, 2009, at the age of 75.
Beverly was born September 27, 1934 in Beaumont, Texas to Everett and Oma McMahon. She was raised and educated in Phoenix, Arizona, graduating from Ajo High School. As the wife of an Air Force serviceman she lived in various parts of the United States and England, arriving in Lompoc in 1963. She was employed as an accountant with the Lompoc School District for many years, retiring in 1999.
Beverly was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved to sew and make jewelry.
Beverly is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Mark and Kim Kempton of Belle Chase, Louisiana, grandsons Quan and Phuong Kempton, brother-in-law Richard Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona, several nieces and nephews, and her great aunt Lois of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband John Alvin Kempton in 1988.
There will be an evening reception at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, October 21. Cremation will be followed by inurnment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
