Bill Terry Goyer
He was named after First Baseman and later New York Giants Manager, Bill Terry, but as he
grew up he was best known only as Terry.
As a youth he was a member of the Future Farmers of America, participating in farming and the
raising of livestock, and was proud to be a Delegate representing Rolla, Missouri at the
American Royal.
During his final stay in Lompoc, Terry worked in the Lompoc Unified School system, especially
at Vandenberg Middle School as a Text Book Clerk. He enjoyed the job, the students, and the
friendly staff; he always looked forward to their next Pot-luck so he could share his hot homebaked
ham along side the delicious dishes and baked goods others brought.
He didn't shy away from challenges, like becoming an Ostomate after Cancer surgery. He
remained an avid Gardner, sharing his fruit and vegetables with family, favorite store clerks, and
several senior friends.
Terry passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Dick
Dewees Senior Center, 1120 West Ocean Avenue, in Lompoc, Ca; from 11:00AM to 4:00PM, to
share Memories. RSVP to 805 735-2685.
