Bobby Allen Ferrell, 75, of Lompoc, passed away on April 21, 2015.
Bobby was born in Bowenemont, West Virginia and moved to California when he was young.
He was in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and worked for 45 + years in Aircraft Construction and Aircraft Repairs.
He was a great car mechanic, contractor, engineer, designer, leadman, bus driver, comedian, imagineer, plumber, electrician, roofer, painter, problem solver and so many more titles.
He worked in Goleta with Tracor Aviation, Lucas Aviation, McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach and Lockheed Aircraft Skunk Works Operations. He worked at the Chumash Casino for many years as well. He did many jobs throughout his life to support his family.
He was a Very Loving Father to all his children and grandchildren. He was a Friend & Buddy and bent over backwards to help all people.
He had a great sense of humor and could recite lines from his favorite movies perfectly. Toy Story, Oh Brother, The Postman and Chicken Little among his favorites. The Ten Commandments was his recent favorite.
He suffered the last 10 years of his life from a Misdiagnosed Disease called Myasthenia Gravis. Every day of his last year was a battle. But he persevered through God's Graces.
He became a Christian and was very strong in God's ways and in his life. He would read his bible when his eyesight allowed and pray daily. He loved to discuss God, the Bible, Jesus Christ's Sacrifice and how God Changed him for the better. His faith was strong. He was Full Immersion Baptized according to Biblical practice and now awaits Resurrection Day. His relationship with God is a wonderful testimony of God's Mercy throughout adversity in one's life.
He is survived by his sons Jeffery Ferrell of Ohio, Gregg Ferrell and his wife Rhonda of West Virginia, Mark Ferrell of Lompoc, and daughter Robyn Vannatter of California. Grandchildren include Hayley Ferrell, Robert & Sierra Ferrell, Philip & Mary Vannatter and Hannah McClean. As well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews & in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Ferrell November 23, 2006.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
