Obituary

Bruce Arlington passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2018, following a lengthy illness.

Bruce was born on October 14, 1948, in Newfoundland, Canada, to Captain Matthew and Dorothe Arlington.  He was born into a USAF (SAC) military family and was raised on numerous Air Force bases in the United States.  After high school, he joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany.  Following completion of his military service, he worked for both Hobart and then G-Tech.

Bruce was proud of his military service.  He was an outdoorsman and loved fishing, traveling, movies, and spending time with family and friends.  He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, and it often became quite lively during the games – wherever he was.  Bruce had a huge heart and tried to help everyone he could.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Diane, his sister Diane Watson, and his daughter Sonia Hepler.  He leaves behind his girlfriend of 11 years Shirley O'Neil; brothers Chris (Tracie) Arlington and Jeff (Sonia) Arlington; sister Lynne Arlington; nieces Celina (Dylan & Lilah) Paul, Christina Arlington, and Kara (Deshay & Watson) Sims; nephews Brandon (Elena) Arlington, Matthew and Christian Arlington; grandchildren Wesley Jo, Eryn Elizabeth, Charlene Hepler, and Wyatt O'Neil; stepdaughter Debbie Bostick and stepson Brett Blumfield.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall 135 South E Street, Lompoc, on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 2-4 pm.
