Bruce Willems 57, passed away suddenly on June 20, 2014 at his home in Lompoc, California

Bruce was born on May 6, 1957, in Lompoc to Dave and Marylin Willems. He was the eighth born out of nine children. He is survived by his loving wife Carey of 25 years and his five children, Jeffrey, Jeremy (Maila) Jake, Josie, Jessica and daughter in-law Maila Willems; grandchildren Conner, Isabela and Hailey willems. Also his brother Mark Willems of Idaho, and sister Linda Nally Willems of Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Growing up in Lompoc, Bruce loved outdoor activities. This including baseball, camping, hiking, shooting, and his favorite of all, fishing. Bruce attended Lompoc high school where he participated in football, track and field, and played the drums in the marching band until he graduated in 1976.

Bruce was always a very hard worker. After returning from Seattle in the early 80s, he worked for the city of Lompoc for over 30 years, 22 of those years he was a dedicated linemen up until he retired in 2012, which he very much enjoyed. Being with a close crew he created lifelong friendships.

Bruce was a very comical guy. Always quick with and joke and could make anybody laugh and smile. He also was known for being a great person, always quick to help a friend or family member out in any situation. He was your go to guy.

Bruce was and still is a beautiful person inside and out. His friends and family are devastated by his passing. He will surely be missed and will always be thought of everyday by many.
