IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Byron Nathanael
Butler Iii
September 30, 1988 – September 23, 2020
Byron Nathanael Butler III, our beloved son, brother, funcle, nephew, cousin, and friend, 31, passed away unexpectedly September 23, 2020.
Byron was born on September 30, 1988 in Lancaster, CA to Byron N. Butler II and Valerie Shanteler. He moved from Ridgecrest, CA to Lompoc, CA in 1998 and graduated in 2006 from Cabrillo High School. He was an advocate for cannabis patient rights and a firm believer in the healing powers it provides. Some of his hobbies included disc golf, mountain biking, rooting for the Raiders, body surfing, enjoying every second of every day, giving a smile and laugh to all he came in contact with, being Paco's daddy, being his mamma's baby boy and his dad's only son, but his favorite of all time and his most prized possessions were his nieces and nephews who think he just hung the moon. They were always having so much fun with their funcle – his ideas and adventures were always the best.
Byron, or Nathan as he is known to his family, is survived by his parents Byron "Buzz" Butler II and Valerie Shanteler, sisters Amber (Charles) Peterson, Aubrey (Jason) Turner, and Alexis, Nieces and Nephews, Joshua Robinson, Nevaeh Peterson, David Turner, Kaylin Cambron, Kaylee Turner, Addison Turner, Macy Curiel, Annabelle Turner, Jordyn Curiel, Asher Peterson, and Saydi Curiel, Aunts Gail Drahos, Gwen Butler, Liddy Butler, and Teresa Burrows, Uncles Johnny Butler, David Drahos, Louie Shanteler, and Gale Burrows, many cousins, adopted family, and a never-ending amount of friends.
Byron was proceeded in death by his grandparents Byron N. Butler I, Patricia Butler, Wanda Lane, Roy Lane, Louis Shanteler, Elizabeth Shanteler, cousin Danae Drahos-Keele, and his nephew Gabriel Curiel.
The family of Byron would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all his friends and family who contributed financial donations, food, flowers, prayers, and love.
Byron was always the light in the darkness of this world and never left you guessing if he loved you. He made your day better if you saw him and gave you a shoulder if you needed one. His hugs were epic and oh, those Halloween costumes. As many of his friends have said, he was simply a legend. In his legacy let's be more adventurous, more loving, more kind, more understanding, more inclusive, and closer with one another as he would have wanted it.
