Obituary

Carmen Valles Williams was born in Deming, New Mexico on December 13, 1927, to Norberto and Anita Valles.  She later moved to Los Angeles California and lived in many of the cities there including Santa Fe Springs, Whittier, Huntington Park, Southgate, Ontario, California.  She finally settled in Lompoc, California where she lived for more than 30 years.

Carmen married Troy Logan Williams.  She raised seven children, whose names are Constance "Connie", Donna, Susan, Roy, Thomas, Cynthia, and Rosalinda.  Carmen was a very intelligent woman.  She was strong-willed, outspoken, and very independent.  She was very kindhearted and caring.  Carmen loved her family dearly.  She would always talk fondly of her mother, father, brothers, and sisters.  She valued life dearly and she would always remind people around her to value themselves and to always value life.  She knew how to evaluate people by their actions and demeanor.  She was so right about the things she spoke of.  She loved music and she loved to dance.  She loved the army.  When she was young, she entered a dance contest at a naval army base and won the contest dancing the "jitterbug".  She would often say, "I am strictly army!"  She would often worry about her children, no matter where they were.  Carmen always put her children first.  She had very good advice to give.  When there was any kind of problem she would always say "This, too shall pass."  Carmen had absolute faith in God.  She was our mother and the greatest blessing.  We are so thankful for the many years we had to enjoy and love her.  You will be forever in our hearts each and every day.  Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. You will be dearly missed by all.  God bless you.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents Norberto and Anita Valles, her sisters Socorro Valles Lucero and Martha Valles Frutos, brother Jimmy Madrid, husband Troy Logan Williams, daughter Constance "Connie" Williams Ybarra, son Thomas "Tommy" Irvin Williams, and granddaughter Rosalinda "Linda" Ybarra.

Carmen is survived by her daughter Donna Rae Williams Vivian of Ontario, son Roy Logan Williams of Montclair, California, daughter Linda Susan Williams of Panorama City, California, daughter Cynthia Carmen Valles of Lompoc, California, brothers Rudy Valles of Santa Fe Springs, Ernie Valles of Mimbres, New Mexico, Beto Valles of Las Cruces, New Mexico, sister Celia Valles Betancourt of Tucson, Arizona, grandchildren; Irene Herrera of Santa Maria, California, David Herrera of Van Nuys, California, Louie Herrera of Brea, California, Diana Williams Quiroz of Montclair, California.
