CarolCarol Geny Harman (Bourquin) born in Santa Barbara, Ca. on August 2, 1943, lost her two-year courageous battle with cancer September 4, 2009.
Carol grew up in Santa Barbara, attending school and graduating from Santa Barbara High. Following graduation she began work at the General Telephone Company as a long distance operator. She attended Santa Barbara City College in the evenings, where she met her husband, Ralph. They were married in 1964, had two children, a son, Forrest, and a daughter, Dianna Harman who is a current resident of Santa Barbara.
Carol volunteered in the classrooms of Santa Barbara schools. She returned to the work force on a part time basis for Equifax. After moving to Lompoc 22 years ago, she began helping her husband in his work.
Carol was active in VIVA, Lompoc Civic Theater, CAPA, and most recently she was a member of the Firefighter's Foundation where she used her creative skill to design posters, and the programs for various Foundation activities.
She was a regular attendee (and never missed a meeting) at the Planning Commission, which her husband served on, and over a 20 year period she rarely missed a City Council meeting.
Carol is survived by: her husband, Ralph, father, LaSelle Bourquin, two brothers, David Bourquin and Richard Gates, a son, Forrest, a daughter, Dianna, three grandchildren, Brittany Tacadena, Michael Cordero, and Steven Cordero, a sister-in-law, Patricia Harman, and father-in-law, Ralph S. Harman.
Per her wishes no funeral services are planned at this time.
