January 8, 1935 – June 28, 2023
Carol Rae Quesnel passed away peacefully at Lompoc Convalescent Care Center on Wednesday morning June 28, 2023. Carol was born on January 8, 1935, in Canton, Ohio to Victor and Violet Wolfe. Carol attended Aultman Hospital School of Nursing obtaining her RN degree and has been a devoted member of the Harvard Medical School Nurse's Health Study since 1976. Carol met the love of her life Richard Quesnel at the Ohio State Fair, and they were married on September 28, 1957. She and "Pops" enjoyed 56 years of a wonderful marriage until Pops passed away in 2013. Carol and Richard, along with their three children, Mark, Denise, and Eric moved to Lompoc in 1968. Carol worked as a charge nurse for CCC until she retired in 2000. Carol and Richard were long-time active members of the Lompoc Church of Christ where they worshipped with family and friends. One of Carol's favorite scriptures is in the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8; A Time for Everything. Carol was an avid baker who loved to try new recipes. She was known by her great-grandchildren, Rae, and Rans as "Grandma Cookie".
Carol is survived by a brother Daryl Wolfe and his wife Marguerite, daughter Denise House and her husband Joel, son Eric Quesnel and his wife Gloria, son Mark Quesnel and his wife Margaret. Also, grandchildren Paul Quesnel, Monica Coleman, Erica Shoemaker, Joshua House, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, a brother Dale, and granddaughter Blaire.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 9 am to 10 am, Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, followed by a graveside service at 11 am, at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, she would appreciate donations to the Church of Christ Disaster Relief Effort Inc. 410 Allied Dr. Nashville TN 37211.
