Carolyn M. Hammerberg passed March 24, 2015 at 11:45 am.
Carolyn was born in Durbin, West Virginia on March 24, 1936 to Monta and Clarence Marshall. She moved to Vandenberg Air Force Base with her ex-husband Kenneth Hammerberg in 1963. She started working at Lompoc Unified School district in the mid-sixties and retired after 29 years of service. She then worked as a substitute secretary for the next 12 years. One of her greatest joys was working with the children. She loved them coming into the office with all their stories. Carolyn was a good friend to many and always was willing to lend a helping hand. She never lost her sense of humor over the years even during the time she was not well. Additionally she loved to garden at her home and received a beautification award for her yard. She was very proud of this recognition.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Hammerberg, her dog Mikey (could not leave him out), her brother and sister in-law John and Elvi Marshall, her special friend Larry Janes, and many good friends.
A memorial service will be held at Starbuck-Lind 123 North A Street in Lompoc, on Saturday, April 11 at 11 am.
