Cassandra Elaine Sims was born in Sedalia, Missouri on May 27, 1963. The daughter of Thomas Eugene "ET" Sims and Bessie Lee Sims Johnson. Cassandra went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2023. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Thomas Eugene "ET" Sims, her siblings Darla Sims-Brown and Jeana McKernon, and several uncles and aunts.

Cassandra was a woman of God, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, and a friend. She graduated from Smith Cottom High School in Sedalia, Missouri, and attended State Fair Community College on a basketball scholarship. She then enlisted in the United States Army where she was honorably discharged from active duty. From there she went on to become a dietician at facilities in the Bay area as well as Sedalia, Missouri, and Lompoc. Cassandra was a faithful and dedicated member of the Usher Board at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church. Cassandra's love for God and family were just a few things that she cherished. She dedicated all of her time and love for the care of her nephews, Tyree, Marcus, Takari, Torey, and Sir Myles who will all miss her dearly, but certainly not limited to. She touched so many lives with her smile, strength, and her ability to overcome all of her health and physical challenges.

She will forever be missed and remembered by her beloved mother Bessie, her brothers Charles Ross, and Eugene "Buddy" Sims, her sisters Angelina Sims-Gray, LaToya Sims, and LaTwila (Wayne) Sims-Frelot, and a host of nieces, aunties, uncles, cousins, close family, and friends, especially her sissy Shaunta.

She will forever be loved and missed.

A funeral service will be held at Trinity Church of the Nazarene 500 East North Avenue, Lompoc, CA on May 17, 2023, at 1 pm.
