Catherine Silva passed away peacefully on April 11, 2014 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'alene, Idaho. Catherine was born January 8, 1928 in Long Beach, California.  She was a resident of Coeur d'alene for the past 15 years. Prior to that, she lived in Buellton, California and worked in a supervisory capacity in the Communication Department at what is currently known as Vandenberg Air Force Base. She was married to Frank L. Silva for 36 years.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents, Thomas and Kate McDonald, her brothers Patrick and Thomas and her sister Mary Ann. She is survived by her son, Robert S. Silva and his wife Deborah Silva of Coeur d'alene,  Idaho. She is also survived by her grandsons Garrett Silva of Huntington Beach, California and Taylor Silva currently in the U. S. Army stationed in Germany.

Viewing will be from 4 to 8 pm with a vigil service at 7 pm on Wednesday, April 23 ^rd at Starbuck Lind Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 am Thursday at La Purisima Catholic Church, 213 W. Olive Ave. in Lompoc.  Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
